David de Gea has thanked Manchester United supporters for making him feel welcome after his move to Real Madrid broke down at the eleventh hour.
The 25-year-old Spain international looked set to join Real Madrid on the final day of the summer window only for the move to collapse as both sides failed to meet the deadline.
De Gea was given a warm welcome by the Old Trafford faithful after he penned a new long-term deal and was brought back into the fold against rivals Liverpool on September 12.

And the reception appears to have left a lasting impression on the former Atletico Madrid man.
De Gea, speaking to Sky Sports before United's eventual 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield, said: 'I cannot describe how I feel in that moment, it was unbelievable.
'In another country or at another club, it's not the same as they are one of the best fans in the world.
'From the first day, how they the support team and me, we lose some games but they are always there and support the team.'
De Gea, who feels settled in England after adjusting to the physicality of the league, is now hoping to become a Manchester United legend by following in the paths of Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar.
